Reviews:

An early favorite

This was one of the songs that drew me to Erasure after hearing it on Pop: 20 hits. It's one of the few songs by the duo that I can say the lyrics are my favorite part. I mean, the whole song is great, but the scathing lyrics like: "...I like to read a murder mystery / I like to know the killer isn't me / Love and hate, what a beautiful combination / Sending shivers up and down my spine..." I heard later that this song was intended to be for the Dick Tracy soundtrack, but after they'd written it they realized it was too good for that and released it themselves, first as a single and then as a part of their best album, Chorus.

There are two B-sides included on this single. One is called Vitamin C and is pointless...enough said about that. The other is quite good, called "La La La" (of all things). I'd reccomend this to any fan of the group who already owns the Chorus LP and is looking for more of that style.

Good single

I like this single. Especially the remixes on it and La La La is beautiful with lots of mistique. It's too bad you don't hear more music like it played on the radio.

Loved it!

I think that it's the best song that Erasure has ever made .....
