Description: Haunting, evocative, mysterious, and magnificent, Enigma's Cross of Changes offers nine musical explorations of sound and sensation that dazzle and amaze. The songs unfold in rolling waves, each more complex and richly layered than the last, yet each fully capable of standing alone as a musically satisfying experience. The standout track on this disc is "Return to Innocence," which combines Native American chanting, Celtic harmonies, and a deceptively simple lyric to devastating effect. At once esoteric and elemental, Cross of Changes is a fine example of the best the genre has to offer. --L.A. Smith

Reviews:

Glory be to Enigma 2: Cross of Changes

This is my second favourite release by Enigma behind Enigma 3. Michel Cretu decided to add Celtic, Native American chanting to this album and continued with the same simple and decisive lyrics and what did we get? A great sampling of artwork of the highest order.

Age of Loneliness, The Eyes of Truth and Return to Innocence are complete masterpieces. The whole CD evokes a feeling of contemplation and I feel that Cretu in this CD was trying to get into the listener's mindset and make us all ponder what we are doing to each other, our world and our ownselves.

The last track of the CD: Cross of Changes asks us to reflect and think about what our future as a race and as individuals mean. This CD is haunting and at the same time is delicious.

Synthetic tunes for us when angels are gone

My stars all go to "Return to Innocence" which contains a sample of chanting from aboriginals of Taiwan, I can't say more since the singers passed away years ago, the heavenly voice therefore returned to where it belongs.

Return to Innocence is chanted by Native " Taiwanese " ~

I love this album; however, Engima refued to give the recognition to the elderly Taiwanese singers ~ And Return to Innocence is chanted by Native " Taiwanese ". It is very sad that the editorial reviews said that it is Native American.... another pain of intellectual ripping off ~~ sigh
