Reviews:

Good compilation

Elvis Presley has often been referred to as "The King of Rock and Roll," and with good reason. His music is nothing short of excellent, and unlike a number of similar artists from the same era, his music stands the test of time. Recently, a compilation of thirty of his tracks tracks that hit number one was released, but it didn't have EVERY popular song he did. So the record company released a follow-up compilation. Read on to see how it measures up.

PROS:

-If you're a casual Elvis fan, don't buy a box set - just about every track you'll ever need is on this compilation or its predecessor.

-The two biggest hits (and shocking omissions) from the previous compilation, Blue Suede Shoes and Viva Las Vegas, are both here for your listening pleasure.

-A previously unissued bonus track can be found on this compilation.

-This CD has over thirty tracks! If this compilation's predecessor didn't have the most tracks to ever appear on an Elvis compilation, this one does.

-It's an affordable compilation.

CONS:

-Elvis is a great musical artist, no questions asked. But was there really a need for another compilation of his material? Obviously not. More likely than not this is just a money-making scam by the record company.

-Good Rockin' Tonight (popularized by Montrose) isn't on this compilation, nor is it on the first one. Damn.

OVERALL:

Despite my complaints, I can honestly say that this compilation and its predecessor are the best single-disc Elvis compilations out there (it even puts some multi-disc collections to shame!) If you're a casual fan of the King, you've come to the right place.
