Reviews:

A great album by the best country singer of all time

This album should make some of those ignorant in the history of music realize that true rock 'n' roll-the brand Elvis popularized in the '50s and continued to master until his death-is really nothing but country with a little gospel and R&B added to the mix. Many people who consider themselves music fans don't realize that "Don't Be Cruel" was No. 1 on the country charts for over 20 straight weeks. Songs like "Snowbird" and "It's Your Baby, You Rock It," only reinforce the fact that Elvis is the greatest country singer of all time.

A Presley Concept Album

"Elvis Country" remains one of Presley's best and most enduring albums. It's certainly his finest studio LP of the 1970s. For perhaps the only time in his career, Elvis chose to make a concept album that reflected his eclectic taste in rock, blues, country and gospel. As a result, "Elvis Country" has a seamless quality that cannot be found on any other Presley album. Every track is a gem -- from the passionate "Tomorrow Never Comes" to the jam-session atmosphere of "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" to the stirring poignancy of "Make the World Go Away." You can hear Elvis' mastery from beginning to end. In retrospect, "Elvis Country" is Presley's most rewarding studio album as well as a timeless personal statement.

And I thought he was ugly now.

It seems to me that Elvis has always been ugly, and always couldn't sing. What a king what a king if only he could sing

Elvis Could Most Certainly Sing

I truely believe Elvis knew everything about music. The songs Little Cabin on the Hill and The Fool are my favorites on this one. If you like Elvis and Country you should buy it. I have had it on vinyl, reel to reel, 8 track, cassette, and now CD. Do you think the First reviewer even heard it? You have to question anyone who says Elvis was ugly. Elvis was King.
