Dinah was and is still the Queen of the Blues! Dinah's "After Hours with Miss D" will continue to be one of my all time favourite CDs. But this CD is a must for your Dinah collection simply because it's been digitally remastered. Turn down the lights, light a few candles, have a martini, crank up your sound system and the Queen's voice sounds as though she is in the room personally serenading you. Hardly or no hissing background sounds throughout this CD. Must note that this CD coincides with the phenomenal biography on Dinah's life, "Queen : The Life and Music of Dinah Washington" written by Nadine Cohodas. This book offers detailed chronological accounts of her amazing, yet short life. Do yourself a favour, buy the book and listen to this CD as you read. Dinah will forever be a queen in my opinion.
