Reviews:

A Good Introduction to "The Queen"

This CD is a rare taste of Dinah Washington performing live. It's a good introduction to Dinah's music for those who are not too familar with her, since she performs all of her most popular standards (which are classics today). As a rare treat in live recordings, this CD even features several versions of the same songs! I would definitely recommend it, since it's sure to become a collector's item.

Bad News Waste Of Money!!

Are you people deaf? I've heard better sound quality on a dictating machine! If you really want to hear Dinah when she was at her best "live", get "Dinah Jams" from her Emarcy years and throw out this piece of trash.

THIS IS REAL DINAH!

This is it! The real Dinah in live perfomance. The quality of this recording is truly outstanding. You hear her interacting with the audience, different perfomances of the same songs -- exquisitely custom crafted for different listeners. This CD provides an opportunity to closely hear Dinah weave medlies and coordinate rhythms between herself and her trio. She grabs your heart and makes it her own. Wait 'til you hear the consummate recording of "This Bitter Earth." "Live at Birdland" insures that the Queen still lives and reigns. It's a must have.
