POWER PACKED COLLECTION

This is an absolutely brilliant collection with 19 of Dekker's greatest hits and includes most of his classics like the amazing Israelites, You Can Get It If You Really Want, It Mek, That's The Way Life Goes and Perseverance. It's also quite varied, with soulful ballads and bubbly uptempo pop reggae classics, demonstrating the artist's versatility. But it's mostly the addictive melodies and smart hooks that bring one back to this album again and again. Every single track rewards the listener with its insightful, poetic and sometimes quirky lyrics, but some of my other favorites are Peace of Mind, Tips Of My Fingers, Too Much Too Soon, You Got Soul and Rude Boy Train. Dekker can be rootsy, punchy, slick or smooth, but on this album he's never anything but excellent. This is by far the best album on the melodic and soulful side of reggae. A masterpiece.
