A Great Single!

Depeche Mode outdo themselves on this single. Dan the Automator begins the CD with a fine hip-hop sound to "Only When I Lose Myself." "Headstar" and "Surrender" are excellent tracks, and should have been A sides. While many singles are generally weak compilations with incomplete remixes, DM gets fine help on this single. Well worth the money!

ONE WORD: SURRENDER

SURRENDER is one of the most popular Bsides ever! This is a must have, no excuses...YOU WILL LOVE THIS SONG. The OWILM remix is better on the other singles, get the one with the Gus Gus remix which is 10 times better than the original song.

Surrender

All the songs here are at least worth listening to, but it's "Surrender" that makes this single a must-have. It is a gorgeous song, sexy and slinky, powerful... I can't say enough good things about this song. The first time I listened to it, I was stunned--not because I was shocked that DM could make a song like this but because it wasn't included on Ultra. This is definitely one of my Top Ten favorite Mode songs of all time. It's a shame more people probably won't hear it because it's on a single. If you liked "Freelove", "When the Body Speaks", or "Breathe" off their new album, Exciter, then this song will also move you. It has a similar torchsong intensity, but is possibly even more sensual than the newer songs.
