Reviews:

Please reissue these sets!

i remember when i was in high school, my friends and i took a trip to Boulder, CO and we stepped into the recored store Albums on the Hill. There, for the first time i saw a Depeche Mode box set, and oh how my mouth watered. Alas, i did not have enough money to purchase it so i put it in the back of my mind. Then, when i got to college and took another trip down to Boulder i went straight to Albums on the Hill and bought Depeche Mode Box Set #3. Since then i haven't seen any other DM Box Sets, and i've been looking. A great collection of remixes and early live recordings, before they were selling out Rose Bowls. i'd love to get the other two sets, so i don't have to buy the singles separately and have them strewn about.

the best box set of them all

mmmmmmmm.........

what can i say about this limited edition other then it is suprising there are remixies of songs that i have never thought DM makes

A MOST HAVE COLLECTION FOR ALL DEPECHE MODE Fanatics

There Should've Been A Fourth Singles Box Set!

Gotta hand it to Mute Records for bringing back the DM Singles Box Set Series. A little disappointed that they decided not to reissue the USA versions which would've made things cheaper on us Americans. Box Set #3 is the best of the sets because you really get your moneys worth. Each CD has an above average number of tracks (for a single that is) and the total tracks of this set is 35 compared to the other 2 sets which have far less. There's a great mix of B-sides, live tracks and remixes here to make any DM fan happy. But my only quarrel with Mute Records is that they never finished the Singles Box Set Series. Anyone who owns these singles knows that each disc is numbered (i.e., Dreaming Of Me is #1, Get The Balance Right is #7, Stripped is #15 ect) but this did not stop with the Little 15 single (#18). It went on to include Strangelove (#19), Never Let Me Down Again (#20), Behind The Wheel (#21) and the Live version of Everything Counts (#22) from the 101 concert. Why wasn't a Fourth Box set created for these singles? I realize there are only four of them and all the other sets contained six singles each but that's the perfect opportunity for Mute to include two bonus discs to fill the gap. What's so hard about that? I like the idea of giving us the live tracks from the limited edition German singles for Get The Balance Right, Everything Counts, Love In Itself, & Blasphemous Rumours and combine them so they'd fit on two discs. The possibilities are endless. Mute missed a huge opportunity to give DM fans a special treat. Come on guys! Give hard core fans something to really sink their teeth into.
