Description: The novelty was stripmined from ethnobeat pop long ago, and this skin-deep confection is surprising only in its lack of edge and invention. On the plus side, the melodies are textured and lush, the beats entrancing, and a parade of gifted singers--Kristy Thirsk, Jacqui Hunt, and Sarah McLachlan included--bill and coo impressively. Lead single "Euphoria (Firefly)" has spark and spirit, while "Enchanted" and "Duende" are strong vehicles for Thirsk and Camille Henderson respectively.

Reviews:
A mellow-dramatic head trip
This was my first Delerium album and, although I don't play it constantly, I was quite impressed. Some of the tracks might put you to sleep (which, by the way, is not a complaint), but others (like track 8) explode into full-blown jams. The techno additions are subtle yet effective, a nice touch to this neo-new age/ambient outfit. I reccomend this album for fans of new age, ambient, techno......Right next to albums like "Lifeforms" by The Future Sound Of London and "The Mirror Conspiracy" by Theivery Corporation.
A great gothic head trip!
Can't Get Enough Of This Disc
I just bought this CD yesterday and wow, there is nothing like this group in existance. Their music is so lush and haunting. I had used to think Enigma was the height of otherworldly music but Delirium outdoes them everytime. My favorites have to be Enchanted and Silence (featuring the lovely Sarah Mclachlan) A must for anyone who love ambient music.
Pure Mood Music.. This is what its all about!
Ok. I'm an avid Rock n Metal listener.. I never listen to pop, techno or that other sh*t.. I was looking for some "mood" music similar to that Deep Forest CD i was given as a present 10 years ago.. I found this CD among others (which i will also review when i get the time).. I downloaded wisdom.. then the entire cd.. This is what i would call 'perfection'. The mix of soothing vocals and worthy music is incredible.. One thing to say, whatever music you usually listen to, you need this CD in your collection..
Here's my song-by-song:
1. Enchanted - Amazing opening song.. Amazing.. I love that woman's voice (Thrisk).
2. Duende - More tribal.. great singing in this one.. Don't know who though.. (Camile i think)
3. Twilight - One of the instrumental songs on the CD.. A bit trancy.. Good.. but not the best..
4. Silence - Ok you know this song already (Oakenfold 2000 remember) Already heard it like a billion times. This version is better than the Oakenfold version tho.
5. Forgotten Worlds - Another instrumental. Very enchanting.. you feel like you are in another world..
6. Lamentation - Also an instrumental. Very oriental song.. The second half of the song is way better than the first.. Its a little weak cuz of the long intro..
7. Euphoria (Firefly) - Very poppy.. Plus Thrisk's voice is nicer.. That being said, overall great song..
8. Remembrance - Another Oriental song.. Very Egyptian at first.. then the synths come in! I love this song.. LOVE IT
9. Wisdom - First Delerium song I listened to.. my favourite off the CD.. Great singing by Thrisk..
10. Koran (AKA Window to your soul) - Another Arabian song.. Starts off with a couple of verses from the Holy Koran.. I kinda like this song..
11. 'Til the End of Time - MORE THRISK!!! Slower than wisdom and not as good but still worthy..
My favourites off the CD:
Wisdom, Enchanted, Duende, Euphoria, Til the end of time, Remembrance and Koran..
Its pretty obvious that you have to get this CD by now.. When you listen to it tho, dont skip any tracks, i know that some instrumentals fail to grasp you and you find yourself skipping the rest of the track in the middle but try not to do that. One other thing i have to add, this album will let you experience moods you did not even know existed.. AMAZING WORK..
