Reviews:

Def Leppard

In My own humble opinion (if that is worth anything !), "SLANG" is the best DEF LEPPARD album , since 1981's "HIGH'n'DRY .
It seems to me , If it hasn't got LURVE songs ouseing out of it , or bubblegum sing-a-long Pop (e.g "Pour some sugar on Me") ,
The record company won't make too many QUID notes out of it
(Dollar Bills in LEPPARDS case !!)
Unfortunatly that is the face of the Music "BUSINESS" today
Crisp Dollar Bills take presedence over ARTISTIC CREATIVITY !!

Not so Def Leppard

This album will take any Leppard fan a bit by surprise but there was never any doubting they had it in them. Showing the world a brand new face by changing their style they have found the right mix of fantastically written ballads with the wall shifting rock tunes we've grown up with (well, me anyway). Stand out tracks have to be `Work It Out' which voices the change and `All I Want Is Everything' for it's emotional content. If your not a fan of Def Leppard then take a listen, if you are a fan then I'm sure, like me, you'll appreciate this great album. 5 Stars to the Sheffield boys!

What is slang for slang?

Slang the cd is as different as lep gets. These days everyone remembers them for songs like,Pour Some Sugar On Me, Let's Get Rocked, or one of their numerous hit ballads. Before Pyromania there was On Through The Night and High n' Dry..that rocked as hard as anyone at that time. As different as Hysteria was from High n' Dry, Slang is from Hysteria and Adrenalize. Critics try to sell you that this was their attempt at grunge when it was more of their attempt at somthing different.. A rawer sound! This cd is not for everyone, not if you're wanting to hear Pour Some Sugar On Me once more. But if you want some great music, and some unbelievable ballads give this cd a listen..Probably some of their greatest songwriting to date. the added accoustic cd is a must, it's why I bought this version. Think these guys don't have talent? Think again as you crank up the acoustic set and hear the harmonies! Dave
