Description: Despite all the tragedies and VH1 specials that have befallen them, Def Leppard remain one of the most reliable British arena-rock bands out there. After briefly losing direction in the dour '90s, the band rebounded with 1999's exuberant
Euphoria. Things stay mercifully on course with the scintillatingly titled
X (as in the Roman numeral for 10, they tell us with a wink). "Torn to Shreds" and "Cry" are classic stonewashed-denim rockers, lifted straight from the 15-million selling
Hysteria blueprint. Meanwhile, "Long, Long Way to Go" arrives as the obligatory lighter-waving ballad in the fine tradition of "Love Bites." Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for the heavy metal Duran Duran.

Reviews:
A band with nothing left to say?
I've long been a Def Leppard fan and thoroughly enjoy their earlier albums to this day. They hit a bump in the road with Slang, redeemed themselves with Euphoria and then totally missed the corner with X. I don't quite know how to sum up this album other than to say it's a shining example of why record sales are slowing across the industry - this album meanders listlessly from one track to another each leaving you as cold as its predecessor. I can't help but think that Def Leppard have run out of ideas or are struggling with an identity crisis.
Don't waste your time and money on this one, even if you're a die hard fan.
I hate pop therefore I hate this album
Well that pretty much sums it up. As another reviewer said they've been heading in this direction for some time. I think they had more good songs then that person thought but the point is this album's crap. Every song is a pop song. If you're looking for hard rock you won't find it here. I'm all for progressing, musically, but this isn't progress. Yeah as another reviewer put it it does sound more modern, that's because it is. That doesn't mean that it's good. Trust me and others on this site, stay away. This boy band album sucks. Oh and when did slayer or Pantera sell out?
Remember when Def Leppard used to be a ROCK band?
I can't believe this is the same band that I fell in love with back in the early 90's. This is not ROCK, it's POP!! I miss the days when Def Leppard had cool ROCK songs like Pour Some Sugar On Me, Photograph, Let It Go, Let's Get Rocked, Wasted, and had awesome guitar solos!! I miss the way Joe Elliott used to sing and they had songs over 6 minutes. This is NOT Def Leppard at all!! Def Leppard is supposed to be a ROCK band and a true rock fan would not pick this over their masterpieces On Through The Night, Pyromania, High 'N' Dry, Hysteria, Adrenalize, or Retro Active. I really miss the Def Leppard that I fell in love with for their ROCK songs!!!
