Love for sale

If you take randomly 14 songs from Connie's repertoire you may be sure that the most of them are love songs. Thus entitling the scant set of her cuts "Love songs" do not speak well for somebody's imagination. However, this Australian edition is currently the only source of Connie's interpretation of famous Bacharach's hits: "Make it easy on yourself" and medley "This girl is in love with you / I say a little prayer". If you add "What the world needs now" (also by Bacharach, but now available from Japan among "The Best of", Polydor; see my review) and "La vie en rose" (currently also on "Lipstick and powder", 3CD, Trilogie; see my review on UK Amazon site) it may make this set worth purchasing, especially that it became dirt-cheap. Good quality of recordings, but ugly cover and only 39 minutes of pleasure for ears.

Three stars for it, does not mean I don't like it, but just one for each of Bacharach's rare cuts.
