Description: If it wasn't for the revolutionary artwork, it would be easy to suspect that the Chemical Brothers were parodying their roles as electronic musicians with that album title. After all, people have accused the genre of sounding redundant for years. But while contemporaries like the Prodigy and Fatboy Slim fall by the wayside, on their fifth studio album Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons sound positively reinvigorated, as the dreamy textures of 2002's
Come With Us give way to a set of sharper, more focused songs, from the politically charged "Left Right" to the wide-screen "Close Your Eyes." It's epic stuff, particularly when A Tribe Called Quest rapper Q-Tip magically appears to give lead-off track "Galvanize" a vintage hip-hop kick. But because this is as much about the future as the past, the British duo also recruits Kele Okereke of underground punk-funk stars Bloc Party and the London vocal group The Magic Numbers to help push things forward.

Simply the Best
This is the most awsome album since Leftism. Delish subtle floavours of Bowie, Public Image, Sonic Youth, Leftfield, King Crimson (latter years), Art of Noise, Floyd, Eminem and Basement Jaxx.
Huge diversity and imagination. Few alums sound octophonic.
Buy it and PLAY IT LOUD
The Brothers worked it out and have turned it out!
Push the Button is a return to the sound and style of the Chemical Brother's first CD "Exit Planet Dust", which many feel is their best album. One right after the other, the listener is bombarded with great song after great song. The album is kicked off with Galvinize, perhaps my favorite track the group has ever done. Then, you get hit with "The Boxer" which is a perfect blend of experimentalism, electro and the signature retro sound of the Chemical Brothers. Other high spots include Marvo Ging, which is constructed similarly to past closers found on Chemical Brother CDs and Shake Bounce Break which is one of the most refreshing dance tracks the group has done in years.
Bottom line, longtime fans already own this and love it, but new listeners will become instant fans of the Chemical Brothers if they decide to give it a chance and Push the Button.
This is a must buy for electronica fans, along with Moby's "Hotel" and mr.deviant's "Techno Obsession".
