ClassicKhan--is not "Classic" for Khan

If you are expecting the typical Chaka sound-- you will be disapointed.SHE WOULD SOUND GOOD singing happy birthday ! but I dont want to buy her version of it.I just heard her interviewed a while ago and was asked " what do you think of others covering your songs ?" CK said to that " If it aint broke--dont try to fix it " And then she turns right around and does it to a whole album of songs.I bought it thinking that she would put a spin on those songs --and make them sound BETTER-- but she does not. Sure she sounds great but not better than the origionals.I didnt like most of them the first time around ..and still dont , now that she fixed them.She IS the Queen of R&B and FUNK. That's what I am willing to pay to hear. I dont want to hear her do Classics,Metal or Country.....! Now GOSPEL--- That--- I would love to hear her do ! I have bought everything she's done since the early 70's , on tape AND cd..... but i will skip her next set of "classics".

Surprisingly Wonderful

Chaka is giving us something different and this type of album is long overdue from her.



I too wondered about the 2 Bond songs (any number of standards would have been a better fit for this album). In all, Chaka sounds great.



To compare Chaka to Beyonce and Ashanti is a joke. They are vocalists in their own right but their careers have not even begun to touch Chaka's. Maybe in 20 years if they're still around...
