Cannibal Corpse EP 1: The Hamer Smashed Face EP
The is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse releases. I bought it sometime in 1994. This was accually the first CD I ever bought and it's a good way to start a CD collection. Definitely an important geme.
Now for my review. This is not another studio album from the band. This is a special release by the band possibly because of their short appearance in the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective featuring Jim Carry. On another hand, it could be to celebrate the appearnce in the movie. To anyone who has ever seen the movie, just flip to that scene where Ace enters the club and sees that strange band playing. This is Cannibal Corpse.
Now back to my review. This EP is basically a release of 3 songs. The first song is Hammer Smashed Face from Tomb Of The Mutilated. The second song is a cover of The Exorcist by legenday 80's thrash metal band and death metal forefathers Possessed. This version of the song is more death metal and in the Cannibal Corpse style while the original is more thrash metal. If you want to hear the original version, you can find it on Possessed's first album Seven Churches. The album has been re-issued and remastered and is avialible here at Amazon.com, FYE, Tower Records and any store that sells extreme metal. So get a copy of it because it's a true important classic geme. And finally, the last song here is a cover of Zero The Hero by the legenday Black Sabbath. This version sounds heavier than the original. If you want to hear the original, just get the Black Sabbath album Born Again which features Ian Gillian from Deep Purple. So all in all, this is a great edition to your Cannibal Corpse collection. Buy it and preapre for a stuffing. Enjoy the trauma.
Ladies and Gentlemen: MUSIC DOESN'T GET WORSE THAN THIS!!!!
First of all, this is not even music PERIOD, this is a ludicrous bedlam of senseless, vile, indiscernible, untalented racket that anybody could do by getting as much noise as possible together and adding in growling vocals that sounds not much different from a demon barfing with razors in its throat (even worse than Gollum's episodes).
Cannibal Corpse is the vilest, most hideous, gruesome (everything disgusting you can think about) and in simple terms---downright gross. Anybody that recommends this has SERIOUS problems on all echelons of sanity. Nobody in their right mind would write a review so ironic as the one entitled on this page "words don't do justice". In fact, it's the most ironic piece of literature I've ever seen in my life because it describes the exact OPPOSITE of what this song and band have produced her.
This has another name "the music from hell". It's not even worth checking out.
This is a review for the song
OK, people, i'll be honest: I can't say I own this EP (in fact I don't) but I have listened to samples of the album in its entirety, plus I have the full mp3 for "Hammer Smashed Face". "Hammer Smashed Face" is my personal favorite song from "Tomb Of The Mutilated". The covers are pretty good to. Anyone who says this band isn't talented can go jump into a volcano.
