GREAT ALBUM, FEEL THE GORE!!!
Released in 2002, Cannibal Corpse's Gore Obsessed contains the same gore splatterd lyrics and killer artwork, mainly for me it's all about the music which has remained great for so many years. Anyways the album is just as heavy and brutal as the band's previous releases. Vocalist or should I say lead growler George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher is so fast and full of energy, man just listen to him on the opening track "Savage Butchery". He is just awesome on that song. Guitarists Jack Owen and Pat O'Brien just rip through your body like a mad chainsaw, and they rip out some great solos in 11 out the 12 songs on here. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that the last track is a cover of the Metallica song "No Remorse" (track 12). Alex Webster is probably the only death metal bassist I know who can play bass so fast with his bare fingers, and of course mad monster drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz's wicked speeding drum blasts will drive you bonkers, the guy is just great. Buy this album along with the new album The Wretched Spawn, and let the dormant bodies burst. Enjoy.
Hatchet... To the... Heeaaaad!
This album is perfect from start to finish. There's no way of describing it. If you can manage to REALLY LISTEN TO EXTREME MUSIC and you can actually LISTEN TO ONE CANNIBAL CORPSE CDs til the end before bashing it, then you'll notice how ingenious it is. No comments for the retarded who compared it with the new slipknot. I just hope I don't see him in any extreme metal show. My friends would loooove to make you cry all your way home. I don't even understand why people who don't like Death Metal come to buy or review a masterpiece like that.
Get a girlfriend. You'll find plenty of girls under 15 at Slipknot shows.
There's not even one song in this CD that makes want to skip it. Corpsegrinder has one of the scariest voices in DM. Pure Death Metal without breakdowns played at lightspeed. If you're a fan of Krisiun, Napalm, old Sepultura, old Carcass or noisecore you won't find anything better.
Totally Brutal!!!!!!
Cannibal Corpse, first off, is NOT about pathetic emo lyrics, muddy power chords, and untalented drummers, nor is it about mindless screeching like A.C. It is about brutally heavy riffs, incredibly sck and twisted lyrics, powerful bass, and ripping drums. The lyrics aren't as deeply haunting as they are on The Bleeding (they were REALLY disturbing then) but they are still twisted. The guitars and bass interlock to create jaw-dropping rhythms, and the drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz continues to amaze me. The vocals are as sick as ever, and the guitars are as brutally heavy and ear-damaging as ever. Total headbanging material.
