Reviews:

Corpsegrinder is the man!

Good old Cannibal Corpse. Loved by many and hated by many. This band in my opinion is the epitome of disgusting and funny at the same time. Honestly, how can anyone take song titles like "I Cum Blood", "Fxcked With A Knife", and the infamous "Entrails Ripped From A Virgin Cxnt" seriously? But I've always liked Cannibal Corpse, and this live is good. Onto the Cd.

This album should deserve 3 stars alone for Corpsegrinder growling the song titles. It's really funny when he growls "This next song goes out to all the ladies tonight. It's from The Bleeding. *growling voice* FXCKED... WITH A KNIFE!!" You have to hear it for yourself. As for the actual music, well, you know what to expect. Live recordings of brutal death metal from the Corpse. The production is fantastic. Usually with live recordings, the guitars would be too loud and you can't hear the drums or the guitars sound too muddy. Everything is crystal clear. The musicianship also is pulled off without a hitch. From "Unleashing The Bloodthirsty" to "A Skull Full Of Maggots", and what Corpse set would be complete without "Hammer Smashed Face", everything is played perfectly.

However, this Corpse album is no different from any other Corpse album. The repetitiveness. Actually, Live Cannibalism isn't as repetitive as some actual Cannibal Corpse recorded material, but still this isn't a Cd I would listen to all day long. I never give a Corpse higher than a 4 to be honest. Anyways, if you're a hardcore Corpse fan, pick this fxcker up.

Listen to someone who knows CC

Take advice from a true metalhead who owns all of Cannibal Corpse's albums and who's seen them in concert three times. Cannibal Corpse is not a musical joke of a band. They've set standards in Death Metal and Metal in general and they've proven they can keep up and do wild stuff live. Alex Webster, possibly, the most under-appreciated bassist ever, can come up with riffs out of no where and every time I've seen him in concert, he always closes out with a two-minute solo. Fast, aggressive, bloody-fingered solos. All in doubt of Webster should watch the making of "The Wretched Spawn" DVD. Not only is he one of the top three bass players in Metal, but he understands music theory and the history and the future of Death Metal. Do I even have to mention CC's guitarist and drummer? Take my word, they're awesome in the studio and in concert and this live album has caught some of their best performances. The "Corpsegringer" always performs above par and his low-to-high range vocals can be heard often on "Live Cannibalism." I've always thought he does "Stripped, Raped, and Strangled" much better than Barnes. His performance is that much more violent.

What's the point?

The thing about Cannibal Corpse is that if their songs all sound EXACTLY the same, what's the point of seeing them live. Do the people in the audience even know what songs they're hearing?

The only thing about this performance that is decent at all is the guitar work. Its more audible here than on their albums. They are very good guitar players, and they show it more on this album than their studio releases.

And also, I read the lyrics to the song I Cum Blood. David Corpsegrinder has to be the sickest, most perverted (...) in the music industry. Anyone who appreciates this music and calls it genius needs some serious help. I really, really hope this demented (...) doesn't have kids, for their sake and his own.

This will be the last review I write for a Cannibal Corpse cd. I will never listen to, look at or even think about this sorry excuse for music again, unless I'm watching Ace Ventura.
