Description: After more than 10 years working the Midwest club circuit, Detroit's Bob Seger hit mainstream American paydirt with this distillation of working-class values and juke-joint rock & roll. His regional success had been brewing throughout the mid-'70s, but after Bruce Springsteen connected with Born to Run (copping Seger's traditional rock values, to say nothing of his husky tone), it was only a matter of time before Seger found his ticket. Seger scores here with the nostalgic title track, the somber ballad "Mainstreet," the over-tanked rocker "Rock 'n' Roll Never Forgets," and the raunch standard "The Fire Down Below." --Rob O'Connor

Reviews:

A Great Musician

I've always been a fan of Bob Seger and this album had a lot to do with it. The songs Mainstreet and Night Moves are my personal favorites by him but there are other great songs like Ship of Fools and Rock and Roll Never Forgets. His album Stranger in Town is also a must-have for the outstanding and beautiful songs on it like Still the Same and Till it Shines. Amazingly good stuff.

Fire Down Below-The Only Good One

The only good one is the Fire Down Below, everything else is

not worth it.

He needs more credit

I know it's amazing, someone under 13 is writing a review about Bob Seger. :->. Anyway, Bob Seger is probably the most underated musicians of all time. He is a great singer, song writer, pianist and a good guitar player. This album has awesome songs, I can choose a song at random and be impressed even if it is one of the first times I heard it. Night Moves is a masterpiece, especially Mainstreet. The riffs, the solos and the songs in general are all good. I can't think of a complaint but...Bob needs more respect. We hear bout Angus Young not getting enough respect as a guitar player but I know other kids that know Angus' name but not Bobs. So to all you moms and dads expose your children to one of the best men in the music industry. This is a great addition to any collection.

One Of Seger's Best!

I love this cd! Not as good as Stranger In Town! Even though there is only a nine track track list the tracks on this cd kick ass! Fire Down Below is my favorite song on this cd! This cd i highly recomend to any 70's rock fan!ROCK ON!

Seger's best work

This album is simply a killer. Bob Seger in those days was playing raw, essential rock and roll at its best.

There's not a loser on this whole album, but the title song is a must hear. And "The Fire Down Below" is the one of the best workouts a Telecaster will ever get. It's a smoking, hook-filled, howling rock masterpiece. Seger outdid himself on this album and never again reached this high water mark.

Don't miss out on Night Moves.
