Reviews:

A new breed of music

Björk has been able to pull out an aalbum of music that cannot be described as something else than Bjork music. She sounds like herself and nothing else in this world. Homogenic, her more mature album to date, combines beautiful orchestral sounds with electronic sounds in a way no one has ever don until now, creatin her own very unique sound. The lyrics are amazingly clever and deep. Every track in Homogenic is a piece or art and a glimpse at the future of music.

One of the 10 best albums of all time.

If Post was reminiscent of Stockhaussen, then Homogenic is simply reminiscent of Bjork. The album is by far her most personal and complex work yet. Simplicity, in both aesthetics and concept, are unimaginable in what could be considered her own musical genre(specially in this release). The way that organic and synthetic sounds were combined was unparalell.

this album is outrageous

it is best when listened to on headphones, because only then can one truly grasp the musical genius that is taking place. the beats and the strings are combined with much intelligence and bravado, and the album is so achingly beautiful that you'll weep because such an amazing talent exixts. "hunter" is particilarly moving.
