Reviews:

Oh Yea! This cd is Pure Delight.

Friends, what a pure delight this cd is,classic Bill Whithers voice accompanied by slick modern musical production.Don't be so 70's that you may be unwilling to give this gem a listen.Iam so happy i found this cd that its under lock and key and among the best of my collections.

Watching You Watching Me

After bursting onto the music scene in the early seventies with such classic pop R'n'B as "Lean On Me", "Ain't No Sunshine", "Use Me" and later hits as "Lovely Day" and "Just The Two Of Us", Bill Withers' place in music history was secure. By 1985, Bill was not driven to put out music as he once did, and "Watching You Watching Me" was in fact his final record. Slick, '80's R'n'B is the tone of this record. It was a high "production" record, with a synth sound not found on his earlier, "organic" records. It has a place amongst Bill's fans as either their favorite or least favorite record from him, mainly because of the production values and not because of the quality of the writing. I give it 3 stars as I consider it a good record, but not vintage Withers. I have two suggestions: 1) One more record from Bill and 2)Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for "Lean On Me" if nothing else. David Moore
