Reviews:

A Soulful Masterpiece

No one could tell a woman how much he loves her like Barry White. This album is proof of that. My Mom bought this album shortly after its release, and she still plays it all the time. These songs are beautiful, and Barry's words at intervals throughout the songs are gorgeous. They brighten the album all the more, and now that it's on CD, it sounds better than ever. Each sound is crystal clear and flawless. This is Barry at his best!

Barry 'the sophomore'

Its 1973 and The Maestro is releasing his second album. As the album title and art work suggests this is one space age, tripped out listening experience, with the production at times having an almost mesmerising, dreamy effect.

The killer jams on this album are the singles `Honey Please' and `Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up', two signature Maestro tunes presented to you here in all their full length glory. The remaining songs find Barry much like his first album `I've Got So Much To Give' (1972) still finding his mark. Whilst the vocals on these three other joints are occasionally a little off the mark, the grooves never leave you hanging. The production on this album is awesome from start to finish. And as usual, Barry doesn't confine himself to 3 or 4 minute songs. He lets them take as long as they take.

Overall `Stone Gon' is an essential 70s record with its own distinct and enjoyable flavour.

One Barry's earlier recordings. Soft, sensual music to love by :)
