Reviews:

A good album that should've had more success

This was the first Alabama album that I bought and it was and still is a great album. It has the hit single, "Sad Lookin' Moon" on it, but all the songs are great. I also like "She's Got That Look In Her Eyes" and "Of Course I'm Alright." At least 2 or more of the other songs should have been #1 hits in my opinion. This is a bigtime underrated album. If you buy it, you won't be disappointed whether you're an Alabama fan or not.

ALA BAMA ROCKS

I've had this album for a couple years now and its one of the best albums they have most of the songs are up beat dancing music and that is just great. It isn't often when you find an album of mostly upbeat happy songs. I am a long time fan of Alabama I have followed them since they have came out.

Bright and breezy album from the late nineties

The mood of this album is generally upbeat but there are some sad songs here too. The music is generally relaxed. By the time this album was recorded, Alabama were past their peak commercially but they continued to make great music as this album proves.

The album opens with the title track, a breezy mid-tempo song that sets the mood of the album. Next comes Sad looking moon, a song that is more reflective than sad, which was the only number one country hit to come from the album. Among the other songs are covers of My girl (Temptations) and Hey baby (Bruce Channel), both of which were American number one pop hits for the original artists in the sixties. Other great songs include Of course I'm alright (about a meeting with an ex-partner), She's got that look in her eyes (about unfulfilled desire) and Is the magic still there?

While this may not be the most essential album by Alabama, there is much to like about it. If you enjoy their music, this album should appeal to you.

Continuity

This album has what a lot of country albums don't have: continuity. The album is meant as a tribute to their days playing in Myrtle Beach, SC, and it comes off as their best 90's album. Of course, they would have been unable to put the album together by picking and choosing songs from Nashville songwriters, so they wrote the album themselves--except for 2 covers (My Girl and Hey Baby) and 2 songs by outside writers (Of Course I'm Alright--an outstanding ballad--and Calling All Angels). Sad Lookin' Moon, Is the Magic Still There, and Dancin, Shaggin' on the Boulevard are all outstanding, and She's Got That Look in Her Eyes is a classic. If you're new to Alabama, you may want their early 80's work to be your jumping off point, but Dancin' on the Boulevard works well as an introduction, too.

SAD LOOKIN MOON

This is my favorite Alabama CD. Sad Looking Moon is the best song on that cd next to My Girl!!!!
