Description: Over a remarkable 30 years, Aerosmith has delivered near-perfect hybrids of rock and balladry, converting generations of listeners into devout fanatics.
O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits drives chronologically through 30 of their best songs, providing a tour of the construction process. And what a process! Listen to "Mama Kin" and you might not recognize Aerosmith at all--here is a young Tyler, before finding his distinctive gritty wail, fronting a simple blues-bar band. But the phenomenal energy and synchronization that developed between Tyler and Perry starts here, and is followed up by successive wonders. "Dream On" captures plodding despair; "Last Child" bears witness to Tyler's mastery of harmony and shriek; "Back in the Saddle" explodes with swagger. Built from the low-end up, Aerosmith's heavy kick, driving bass lines, steady rhythm guitar, and blaring exclamation-point horns create a perfect foundation. And the dirty, harmonic souls of Steven Tyler and Joe Perry do what they do best--put on an over-the-top, flawless show.

Reviews:
Close, but not quite there
Well, 142 people have written reviews for this CD already, but I will add my 2 cents. I will agree with the many reviewers who wished it had included every Hot 100 chart single. However, in my opinion it is the best to date and much preferable than "Big Ones". All of the late 80's and beyond hits are here, which is mostly what I am looking for. Most of the big hits from the 70's are also here. What's missing are "Home Tonight", "Kings and Queens", "Come Together", "Chip Away the Stone", and "Remember (Walking in the Sand)". I suppose if I just can't live without those songs, I can try to download them. Anyway, a good CD with a lot of great tunes.
Expecting An Average Greatest Hits Collection? Dream On!
After what seems like dozens of cheap greatest hits collections, the people at Columbia and Geffen still feel that they should release another Aerosmith best off. Fortunately, this time it proved to be a good move, as "O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits" collects all their best numbers on two rocking discs.
Here is the only collection where you'll find all their best and most popular songs, including "Dream On", "Walk This Way" (classic riff), "Sweet Emotion", "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", "Angel", "Rag Doll", "Love In An Elevator", "Janie's Got A Gun", "Livin' On The Edge" and if I keep going I'll probably name the whole cd.
What's even nicer is that they included some great material not "Big One" or "Young Lust: The Aerosmith Anthology". It's especially nice to have "Seasons Of Wither" included, since many fans complained about it not being on "Young Lust". Also, later smash hits "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and "Jaded finally make their way onto a hits cd, and they're welcome.
Overall, go out and pick up this cd and get ready to rock out!
good compilation of most aerosmith songs
I would recommend this to Get Your Wings because it would go
great with that album. Janie's Got a Gun maybe my personal favorite. I donno, all these songs are great though.
I only recommend the first disc and the second disc SUCKS!!!!!
