Outstanding, History-Making Album

With this album Celentano made history by cementing Toto Cutugno's reputation as one of the world's greatest composers--some songs, including the title track were written by Cutugno--and by sweeping like a hurricane through Eastern Europe. I used to listen for hours to this album in the early 1980s, immediately after it was released in the Ukraine. And yes, "People" on this album is the song made famous by Barbara Streisend, sung in English by Celentano. There is also a song on this album that pays homemage to disco, and you can hear something like the Bee Gees (maybe it was them) in the background. But the best songs here are: "Soli," "Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay," "Io e Te," and "Amore No." Celentano is one of the best and longest lived acts in the history of rock and pop.
