Reviews:

AC/DC - 'Live' (Atlantic)

Wasn't there like two(2)different versions of this live album put out?Yes,'Live' was a long-awaited release and the only reason I give it a four star rating instead of five is the fact that there is a gap of silence between each and every song. Why don't record companies just make a/any live recording sound as if it came from JUST one show?I love it when a live CD has that going for it.Total of fourteen tunes that were recorded from the band's 'Razer's Edge' world tour 1990-91.Tracks that I enjoyed reliving again and again were their memorable opener "Thunderstruck","Back In Black","Shoot To Thrill","Whole Lotta Rosie"(one of my personal all time favorites),"You Shook Me All Night Long","TNT" and their traditional encore number "For Those About To Rock".One reason that I may not be going ga-ga over this CD is that I've recently located an import(bootleg, maybe?)of a 2-CD titled 'Berlin,2003' and that thing totally rips!!

AC/DC - Live

AC/DC is one of my all time favorite bands. They know how to rock! This C.D. is no exception. They get the crowd pumped and get my blood boiling! This C.D. doesn't have all the essential AC/DC tracks, but for me, this C.D. is still great. The C.D. contains such great songs as Back in Black, Highway To Hell, Money Talks, Hells Bells, TNT, You Shook Me All Night Long, Thunderstruck, Dirty Deed Done Dirt Cheap and The Jack. Every AC/DC fan should own this C.D., no just to complete their collection, but to have it for what it is...LIVE ROCK N ROLL!

AC/DC Live

Despite the fact that the band's best days were obviously behind them, a live album for AC/DC was all but completely necessary. After all, the group's first live release, If You Want Blood You've Got It, was recorded at a time when AC/DC was nothing more than a cult act who had yet to produce many of its future rock staples. Though recorded well into their career on the Razor's Edge 1991 tour, AC/DC Live surprisingly captures the hype and excitement that made AC/DC such a hit in their heyday. The set list wisely overlooks the songs from the band's mid-'80s slump and concentrates on hard rock hits such as "Hells Bells," "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." Brian Johnson's voice may not be as strong as in the early '80s, but he still sounds competent in his role. All too often, a live album is a cheaply made, rushed recording that only serves as a testament to a band's decline. AC/DC Live, however, shows what makes this band different from their peers -- here they are still entirely capable of pulling off a great live show. This ranks among the best live metal albums of the '90s.

AC/DC Live ~ AC/DC

AC/DC cam never be said to be the best muisicians nor the best vocalists. Hard Rock is not what you call difficult music to play nor sing. Even so their is something immensly likeable about this group of ragtag musicians and less then perfetc vocalists. They give their all and never slack of and that can not be said for all bands when it feels like they mail in a live performance. I am not a huge AC/DC fan but this live album with their main hits is very nice to listen to and it makes you keen to go and watch them live just to experience them on a stage and not just on a recording. On this live album they play some of their biggest hits, like thunderstruck, tnt, heatseeker and many others. The book-let looks quite cheap and one wonders if that was done as an after thought and the guys said...well put on whatever...since it certainly looks this way and that is not good. This is a very nice live album with tons of energy and good hard rock music.

Big! Fast! Mean! Sharp!

I'm not the "metalmaniac" I used to be anymore, somewhere along the road I "grew it off me" somehow, but every time I hear AC/DC I feel this strong urge to turn up the volume, and rock away!

"Sin City" never becomes old, "Dirty Deeds..." still rough, "Back In Black" (need I say more??) -and so on and on...

Not a boring moment on this Live-release of one of the greatest Heavy Metal-performing bands ever. All there is to say is WOW!

I'm getting the DVD, the show still brings out the youth in me!

Great AC/DC album

I have been a fan of AC/DC for a while now but have never owned any of their albums. I saw this album in a store on sale so I decided to buy it. Man, this album is awesome. It takes their already awesome greatest hits and adds in the special factors that differentiate them from regular studio album tracks i.e. Brian Johnson talking to the audience, hearing the audience sing back, and a generally faster pace of the music.

I don't about you but I like hearing Johnson pump up the audience and in this case, the listeners of this CD. It is a great buy and will bring a sinful smile to anyone's face while getting you energized.
