Reviews:

Aaron Tippin's Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly

The other reviewers have mostly done an excellent job. Aaron Tippin, like Alan Jackson (whom I also reviewed), replied to the September 11 terror with what he does best, Country Music. This one has the beat and the words that bring back the best of traditional Country but also the best of modern times and our response to indiscriminate terror. Some young people think that it's *cool* to praise New Yorkers for their courage but not to sing or dance or whistle or hum to people like Aaron and Alan whose souls express themselves in music in reacting to September 11. They probably never heard Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette, Mary Chapin Carpenter (in her Saturday Night at the Twist and Shout), or for that matter Beethoven who was blind and deaf but wrote the world's greatest music in the face of the dictator Napoleon (whom he told off and was spared because of his courage). Country Music is the Modern version of the old Classical Music - the old Creative Geniuses Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn, Chopin, Vivaldi, Verdi, Strauss, etc.

Tippin tells it like it is. He tells the good parts of America the way he experiences them. Yes, loving your wife and your nation and your dreams and your flag can be very *cool*. Try it, you'll like it!

God Bless America and Aaron Tippin

'Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly' conveys a powerful and positive message about America. This song touches the very soul of this great country. It creates such a sense of pride in America, the best country on earth. Of all the new patriotic songs recently released, Aaron Tippin's 'Where The Stars And The Stripes And The Eagle Fly' says it best. We are all America; our diversity is our strength.

The CD also includes a second single, a dynamite remake of one of Aaron's earliest hits and one of my personal favorites, 'You've Got To Stand For Something.' Aaron performed that song with the Bob Hope USO Tour for our troops during the Gulf War.

Definitely one of Aaron Tippin's best. Buy the CD single; you won't regret it. And remember, the net proceeds go to help the victims and their families so devastated by the tragedy on 11 September. How terrific, Americans helping Americans!

Regarding "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly"

This song is indicative of the growing patriotic sentiment in the U.S., and I for one appreciate Aaron Tippin and others like him for songs like this. It's unfortunate that it took a tragedy to remind Americans of how lucky they truly are, but better late than never... To the author of "Fly This"--I think I speak for most people when I say that we are tired of self-proclaimed intellectuals like you that don't realize how lucky you are. Either get with the program or leave.
