98 Degrees has two great melodies: "Invisible Man" and "Hardest Thing", both of which can be found on this CD. These two love balads are among my favorites, especially "Invisible Man", which at once mixes delicately a smooth beat and soothing lyrics. The CD single for "Invisible Man" was superb, since it contained the instrumental version of the song, which was a terrific surprise; I just love the instrumental and need to hear it at least once a day it seems. Unfortunately, the CD single for "Hardest Thing" has only the radio edit version of the song. However, the cassette version of this single contains all three tunes found on the CD PLUS the album (longer) version of "Hardest Thing", a fact I'm not sure many people know about. The fact that I already had the "Invisible Man" CD at home made buying the cassette version of the "Hardest Thing" single easy, since I could listen to it in my car (I don't have a CD player in my car). It was the perfect situation. (Well, I suppose the most perfect situation would have been to have the instrumental version of "Invisible Man" in place of the remixed version of "Because of You"--although it's better than the non-remixed version, which I don't even like--AND to have it available on CD, since the cassette single in my car is wearing out!). So, the cassette version gets a 5, but the CD version gets a 4.
