Description: 50 Cent is now a full two dollars, according to pop culture exchange rates. His sheer influence on music charts, and thugs hearts, changed things. So why then on Massacre is the 'hood drama that one would think he'd want to leave behind even more front-and-center than on Get Rich or Die Tryin'? It's hard to say, but 50's developed a questionable gun fetish here. With firearms plastered all over the liner notes, and throughout most of his lyrics--on "In My Hood" he retorts "…I don't go nowhere without my strap"--apparently his nouveau rich status has only accelerated the number of enemies he's accumulated. On "I'm Supposed to Die Tonight" he even awkwardly forecasts Notorious B.I.G.-like, Tupac-ian rap game death scenarios. "Piggy Bank," a virtual diss fest further cements his "How to Rob" persona as Nas and Fat Joe get the lyrical smack down; so does A-list actor Vivica Fox ("Get In My Car") for even daring to consider their rendezvous to be anything more than a fling. Despite beat contributions from Aftermath hombres (Eminem, Dr. Dre), some of the better beats come courtesy of lesser-known beatsmiths like Disco D ("Ski Mask Way") and the always consistent Hi-Tek, whose "Ryder Music" is a sick concoction of keys and haunting vocals. At 22 tracks (with no inane interludes), it's worth the loot, but it doesn't cover up 50's artistic regression since Get Rich. --Dalton Higgins

This cd is pretty good and an excellent follow up to his first cd.

Hot album

Even if you don't like the words that much, almost every single track on here has a hot beat. Really, I love rap as much as the next guy and it's about the beats. There's only so many times and way you can talk about money, cars, and sex. It's gotta have a hot beat and The Massacre sure does accomplish this.

Gatman and Robin is one stupid song but it's super hyper beat is cool. My personal favorite changes from day to day depending on my mood. It's that kind of mix that no matter how you are feeling, it has a song to get you going.

Just a Lil Bit has a super nice beat and the words make you wanna roll down your window and ride with a gangsta lean!

Everyone's heard Candy Shop and it's good but overplayed. It gets old. There's plenty of fresh stuff on here for you to listen to. I had my doubts about 50 but like all good rappers, they never let you down and he sure doesn't. If you like Get Rich, BUY THIS NOW. If you didn't like it, you probably won't like this one. His style is the same but the beats on this one is sicker than Hell. It's worth every penny.

I love it, but there's just a problem...

This brand new album of 50 Cent is amazing, but dissin' people is not the best. So he must stop dissin' people before he won't get hurt again as happened at 2000.

On the other hadn this album contais amazing tunes, created by amazing producers.

Between the highlights we can find "Candy shop", "So amazing", "Outta Control" that is a sequele of The Game's "Higher", but there's some lowlights, the worsts are "My toy soldier" and "Gatman and robbin" just because Eminem ruins it.

My personal oppinion is:

I don't know why some people didn't liked this one. It's even better than "Get Rich or die tryin'" Here 50 shows what is he made of and he has finally matured; But he won't be alright if he follows the steps left by Eminem

Is Hip Hop dead?

I've got nearly 300 hip hop cds from old school new school and underground so I have alot to compare this cd too. And the fact that this cd even sold 100 copies is just sad. 50 is and has always been hot beats over lazy hooks. And now that Dre did only 2 beats it shows.

The only thing sellin his albumn is his image, which means nothing to me. His diss track "Piggy Bank" is hot not because of what is said but who hes dissin. I mean seriously are you gonna put 50 in the same "hemisphere" as Nas and Jada. Disco Inferno and Candy Shop is jus something to play in the clubs tap your feet to and move on.

The funniest thing about this albumn is that hes singing throughout the cd when he was getting at Ja Rule for doing the same thing. I don't like both of them but I prefer Ja's singing over 50 if I had to choose. Don't let me get started on some of his other tracks like "Ghatman and Robin". Get Rich or Die Trying was officail but that was then this is now. The only hot songs on this Lp were "My Hood" and "Hate It or Love It remix". I took time out of my day to tell you whats really poppin. Go buy a Mobb Deep or Jay Z cd or something. Pleaaaaassssse!!!!!!!!

Now THIS is what I'm talking about!

50 Cent is a vital voice for modern young America. His intelligent lyrics and potent messages of empowerment help this young man sell millions of records all over the world. Songs like "Disco Inferno" and "Candy Shop" are the stuff great songs are made of. Pity I can't go higher than five stars. It is THE must-have album of the year!

pain of salvation sucks!!!!

this new album by pain of salaavation is the worst yet its about god whut r they trying to be christian now that is lame i can't beleieve peole call this prog daniel gidlenblow is terrible go by some symphony x instread.

The truth about the Massacre

OK, 50 Cent is getting pretty wack. He hates on everyone. Nas, Ja Rule, Ashanti, my man Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Shyne, Kelis, The Game, Jennifer Lopez, Styles P and sometimes even Eminem. Now this isn't a wasted review just to hate but G Unit is turning wack too. Young Buck can't rap, Lloyd Banks is better but he's voice is so annoying. Same goes to Tony Yayo. The only good person on G Unit is Olivia. Check her new song coming soon called 'Twist It'.

Now on to the Massacre. Don't get me wrong Get Rich Or Die Tryin was a great album, but that was before 50 Cent went all hating on everyone thinking he was God. And yo, on the Massacre, it has 22 songs, but all of the songs except track 22, are all 2min to 3min songs. The basis of his songs go like this. Intro/Hook, Verse 1, Hook, Verse 2, Hook. Then to make it seem like the tracks longer he puts about 40 seconds of instrumental on the end of the song. And honestly, there are only about 3 songs on the album that doesn't use this formula. That's pretty cheap. 50 thinks that cuz he da 'best', he can do whatever s&!**# job he wants. And not to sound like a hater, but Piggybank isn't a real diss track like the media built it up as. It's more of a comedy track.

OK now that I've done pointing out what's wrong about this album, let's focus on the positive. The intro is pretty well thought out but he should have cut out the beginning where he makes reference to the 'St Valentines Day Massacre'. For those who don't know, 50 was going to release this album on Valentines Day and call it 'St Valentines Day Massacre'. OK the best songs on the album are In My Hood, Candy Shop, Just A Lil' Bit (his next single), So Amazing & Hate It Or Love It Remix. I'm not exactly sure why Hate It Or Love It Remix is included on the Massacre, because it was originally a song by the Game which you can find on The Games album, 'Documentary'. I think it's kinda cheesy what 50 did because The Game is releasing Hate It Or Love It as a single on May 22. 50 Cent doesn't actually have any new verses; he keeps the one he recorded with Game on the original. Because 50 & Game are now enemies (but they have called a truce), Game has re recorded the Hate It Or Love It Remix and stuck Mary J. Blige on the track.

OK enough about Hate It Or Love It, lets' get back to 50. In all, the Massacre is pretty rushed and he sticks to the same topic most of the time; that is guns, killing, drugs, sex and his hood. The only people buying this album will be 10-12 year olds that think 50's cool and the best. Yes of course 50 will outsell everyone and of course this album will be in the top 50 for months and months, and but can anyone tell me why he deserves to be???? Peace.

whats this? no more talent?

Now I read most of the reviews on this site for this new cd of 50s and after hearing it I agree with most of them this cd proves that when rappers get rich they get lazy. The lyrics in this cd are boaring and tasteless I wasnt supprised however considering this happens with a lot of rappers and now it seems like the mainstream followers are starting to open their eyes a little. Now other ppl are posting that they are not hateing but I am the first to say I am this cd blows Ill stick with the underground shit
