Description: He’s been shot nine times. Incarcerated. And stabbed up and down. And that’s only what’s happened on 50 Cent’s down time. Hands down, 50 Cent is the biggest buzz emcee since Eminem (who just happens to be his label CEO), and Get Rich also features Dr. Dre on production, so it’s a can’t-miss record, right? Well, mostly. Get Rich is not filled with midtempo, radio-friendly numbers like "Wanksta," his thinly veiled Ja Rule dis first heard on the 8 Mile soundtrack. Instead, Cent brings the heat, not heater. He sheds his inner thug on "21 Questions," featuring G-funk crooner Nate Dogg showing some semblance of respect to the hotties, and then reverts right back to his thug persona on "In da Club," where he boasts "I’m into having sex, I ain’t into making love." There’s no "How to Rob, Pt. 2" here, although "Many Men" comes close, as he addresses some of the haters who may not fully get why he’s now rap’s big cheese. Surprisingly, the two Eminem-produced joints--"Patiently Waiting" (which thematically is very much like Em’s "Lose Yourself"), and "Don’t Push Me"--almost rival the beats supplied by Dre. Then again, it seems his most well-known cuts ("High All the Time" and "Wanksta," for example) are actually some of the weakest of the lot. Sure, Get Rich could never have lived up to the hype, it’s nowhere near Biggie's Ready to Die or Nas's Illmatic, but there's no fast-forward material here, a near miracle in these times. --Dalton Higgins

Reviews:

"Get Rich or Die Tryin" is worth the $$$ !

There is no denying that this is a great album, all the haters are either annoyed of him or are jealous of how much money he is getting. and i personally think that he would be just as good without Eminem and Dre. and by the way this is NOT 50 Cent's first album, alot of people probably don't even no that. "Power of The Dollar" and "Guess Who's Back" are 2 other 50 Cent albums which are very good, and there are few mixtapes also...

"Get Rich or Die Tryin'" is hot!, the beats along with the lyrics are tight, and the featured artists do a great job and no skits which is great.

My Favourite Tracks are "Many Men" "If I Can't" "Heat" "What Up Gangsta" "P.I.M.P." "Gotta Make It To Heavan" and "Like My Style". "21 Questions" with Nate is very good also and "In Da Club" which is a song everyone knows, is an alright song, and was a good way to get noticed. The Bonus Tracks are all great also ("Wanksta", "U Not Like Me" and "Life's on the Line")

"Get Rich or Die Tryin" is a great album, and 50 won't be goin anywhere, having brought out since then "Beg For Mercy" (which wasnt great) and "The Massacre" which is still number 1 on the Billboard Charts, 50 has cemented himself in the Spotlight and looks like he will be staying there.

I Recommend this album "Get Rich or Die Tryin" to u all along with his other releases (Power of The Dollar, Guess Who's Back, and The Massacre).

2 Quarter (Part 1)

No Wonder 2 Quarter has been shot nine times. He sucks. Period. He can (c)rap all he wants about being in the club and money. Its all hype, soon he'll be just as relevant as M.C. Hammer and doing commercials for insurance. His plans are clearly obvious, look at the title! Get Rich or Die Tryin', thus meaning, trying all the easy shots at getting fame and money. Act tough, look tough, become the biggest hype, rap idiotically cause its something that they'll play at the clubs or raves because everybody will like it cause they are tripped out on PCP or something, and then they'll start using 50 Cent as a code word for drugs, because in time that's all anybody will remember him or at least the slogan for. No body will care about the "music", only about this cool little code word that will pop up in time. I may be wrong, but don't be surprised if it comes true.....or maybe its already in affect right now.... *gasps*

You got to hand it to 2 Quarter, his wildest dreams came true. He got rich at the expense of the masses. His reign of annoyance is almost at its end as apparently, his new CD flat out sucks even more. Well, now its time of his career to die. Don't be surprised if he puts out a CD titled "Stay Rich or Die Tryin'", when he runs out of ideas to avoid doing commercials with M.C. Hammer by his side.

P.S. Check out my review for the massacre as well. If you liked this, then you'll enjoy that too.

50s Hot

I love this ablum its one of the best albums I own. There are alot of tight gangsta tracks on this album like "what up gangsta" and "Many Men". There are also club tracks like "In Da Club" and "If I Cant. Overall thre are many diffrent types of tracks on this hot cd. I would also get 50's Massacare with this and people gotta stop hating on 50 he is the hottest rapper right now so stop the hating. GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Unit!

Commercial junk

50 Cent is everything hip pop is rite now. Some fool thinkin hes gangster and releasing a terrible rap album, Its rappers like these that make people think that rap is all bout being a ghetto pimp and havin lots of cash. 50 cent has boring rhymes and cant flow for his life. If u want a club album here it is but for gods sake if u love hip hop like i do dont buy this junk.

great cd

great cd

every song is worth the money.

every song is good.

i like 50

50 is cool i like him...i just dont like his new cd this one is alot better :)

I'm Pickled For Sure!

Ha ha ha!!! They call this music!. Mozart would turn in his grave to hear that this is what it has come to. WHERE'S THE DEPTH???

Ok, I'm just writting this to be hated by all you 'hip' people,(blinging, init, youknowwhatImean) but I'm really enjoying myself. If you want music I advise you go and by Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull or something even remotely decent. How has music come to this. Pre-programmed instuments, 50 Cent swearing at every possible oppertunity and bland songs. I pity you poor fools for liking this!

I'm in for it now...

Nice!!

Shot 9 times. Does that mean it's worth listening to him?

No, it doesn't. Remember when this album was coming out? How all we heard about it was that he was shot 9 times and survived? Um, yeah, so what does that have to do with the music anybody?

Nothing. Because there is nothing here to talk about. And, coincidentally, "Fitty" doesn't have anything to talk about either. Other than how tough and cool he is. Thanks dude, but I don't need 17 songs about the same thing to get your point. I bought this CD the day it came out because I was in a rap phase at the time, and now, looking back on it 2 years later I'm embarrassed. Yeah, I'll give him a little credit. Some of the songs are kind of funny and enjoyable, but there is absolutely no subject matter other than how we should all be so impressed with him. I'll tell you something. I'm not impressed that he got shot 9 times. Why would I be impressed about a low-life criminal that was shot 9 times by another low-life criminal? Keep listening to the mindless garbage America and we're sure to progress.
