Reviews:

Back In 1988

Back in 1988, the 2 Live Crew released their second album and by far remains a classic in the world of Old School Hip-Hop and Miami Bass. This album is a classic for a lot of reason, first off this album isn't as controversal as their 1989 album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be". This was at a time when the 2 Live Crew weren't trying to push the limits on censorship yet. The standouts on this album are "Move Somethin'", "One & One", "Doo Wah Ditty" and "HBC". Also another thing to note, the song "Move Somethin'" was played through out the 1990 movie "Men At Work", you know the movie that stared Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez as two struggling garbage men in Miami, FL. Pretty much after 1988, Tipper Gore was all over these guys after the "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" album was release.

Total Lunacy!

I was forced to listen this drivel at a party, and if I hadn't gone with a friend, I would have escaped. Instead, my ears were assaulted by this non-stop barrage of foul mouthed antics. I only gave it 1 star for the cover art (I MUST meet this woman!) and while that's extremely shallow, it's the only redeeming quality of this release. My advice: buy it, throw away the CD itself and enjoy the cover photo!

WHAT A PARTY!

First and foremost- DO NOT TAKE THIS ALBUM SERIOUSLY! This is by-far the premire 2 Live Crew album to own. Almost every track is worthy of being on their greatest hits CD. Some stand-outs: Move Somethin'... is a FANTASIC song with exceptional rapping, good hooks, and great style; One and One... the catchiest and perhaps most hilarious of all the songs 2 Live has produced; S&M... the best song 2 Live has ever created, an anthem for all bachelor and frat parties for years to come. Again, this is a highly offensive, disgusting, and idiotic record... however, if you take it as it was designed to be interpreted, this album is funny-as-heck! THIS IS NOT BACH. Oh, yeah, this album would be 5 stars, although, I had to give it four so that I wouldn't consider myself completely foolish.
